Woven Patchwork Blanket

This is a large project in process. I have quite a bit of different samples of yarns I spun, but not enough of each color to make a real project, so I pulled out my Weavette Looms and woven squares and rectangles to use of the yarns (since these little looms are continuous weaves, there is no waste. I warp as I weave at the same time. I'm also using black commercial wool yarns to crochet a border to make it easier to sew the patches together.

Two more Skeleton T-Shirts for Halloween 2008 for my Husband

Here is the front view of my Husband's Skeleton Face T-Shirt. I bought both a black and white T-shirt his size, washed them both and the white one shrunk quite a bit. What I'm supposed to do is tuck the black T-shirt inside the white T-Shirt with the Skeketon's Face features cut out so you'll see the black t-shirt through the eyes, nose and space between the teeth. My Husband was cleaver enough to have me cut off the front of the white t-shirt, sew it in front of the black t-shirt and the cut-outs from the white t-shirt, sew them on the back of the black t-shirt. The shirt turned out nicer, plus he didn't want two layers of t-shirts which it would have been if I followed the instructions closely, but I couldn't because of the white t-shirt shrinking. I liked my Husband's t-shirt a little better than mine, but I was still proud of both t-shirts. Since I get cold easy, it worked out.

Woven Throw made on my Sprigg Adj 5 Ft Sq Loom and Pillow

Cross stitched woven pillow form with a lamb from left over yarn used to weave the throw.

Two Crocheted Teddy Bears from a pattern created by ThReAdTeDs

This Teddy bear was made from the same pattern as the first teddy bear with the doll. I didn't enter this one. I made this as a practice on following the pattern. Crochet Cotton thread was used to make this bear.



This Crocheted Teddy Bear was done from wool yarn I spun myself. The doll she's holding is made from cotton crochet thread and I won a 1st place blue ribbon on this teddy bear back in 2008 at the San Mateo County Fair.

Purchased Blanket with Crocheted Edges

Store bought Blanket with Crochet on the Edge I did for my younger Sister for Christmas 2009. She loved it and it's very warm.


Close up view of the blanket bundled on my couch. My Sister loves this Blanket and it's pretty warm she reminded me. Blue is a favorite color in her immediate family.

Other Gift I owe was a Doll for a Cousin

I almost forgot! I also completed a Doll for a Cousin who's name I drew on our Family Thanksgiving Holiday get-together. Each year a small handful of us draw names between the Siblings, Parents, Cousins, Aunts and Uncles.
I drew my Cousin, Sue's name from last year (2005), but this year I drew my younger Sisters' name and my Aunt Queen drew my name. Yes, I'm a year late with my Cousin, Sue's gift, but it came out nice! I made her an African Doll. I dyed and printed the fabric for her clothing. I purchased a set of rubber stamps with the African Adinkra Symbols, about 12 different designs with a booklet explaining what the designs mean. I also found a website on Adinkra symbols that come out once a Month.


Here is the photograph of the doll I made my Cousin. I'm making my Sister, Valerie 3 dolls.


I completed this Doll in time for my Family's Christmas Eve get-together and had one of my Sisters take the doll to the main family Christmas get-together, which I didn't make it to since my Husband and I went to his Parents house to spend Christmas Day.

My Cousin Sue loves her doll and she was so happy to finally get her.
